Course Overview

This course is aimed at learners wishing to develop an understanding of basic photographic processes and will also allow learners to develop their understanding and skills in manipulating their images. This is an engaging qualification and suitable for learners with an interest in photography. To be awarded the Level 1 Award in Photography, learners are required to successfully complete two mandatory units. - Unit 1 - Use a camera to capture creative images, Unit 2 Digital image manipulation. A portfolio of work will be submitted at the end of the course which will include written work for assessment.

Entry Requirements

UK Requirements

This qualification is suitable for Learners aged pre 16+ and above who have an interest in Digital photography and image manipulation. There are no specific entry requirements for this qualification however learners may find it helpful if they’ve already achieved an entry level qualification in photography or similar subject. Learners must be 16 on or before the 1st July 2023

Additional Information

This course is aimed at beginners wishing to learn the basics of how to use their Digital SLR camera. All technical aspects of image capture will be covered to make the student confident with their camera as well as editing in Photoshop. This qualification will help develop the learner’s interest in photography and prepare them for progression onto further learning in this subject area.
