Students studying Level 2 and Level 3 courses in Early Years at Strabane Campus got the opportunity to hear from educator Bridget Wilders this week.

Ms. Wilders, headteacher of St Catherine’s P.S. spoke of the many job opportunities for qualified classroom assistants.

During her inspirational talk, she told students – you are here studying at NWRC because you have a desire to make things better for children, and you want to see children learn and develop.

She also told the students of the importance of communication skills, teamwork, organisation, interpersonal skills, confidence, and how they should come to their placement every day with a smile on their faces.

Ms. Wilders said St Catherine’s were pleased to work in partnership with NWRC which has a strong reputation for their courses in childcare, with many students progressing to careers in Early Years.

She also spoke of the many employment opportunities available locally.
